These just arrived... bought them on March 5th so about three weeks to get here from Hong Kong.

Cheap and cheerful, but nice and loud, and can be remotely armed.

Same item was in ALDI for €9.99 last week, might be still a few around if you prefer to buy B&M for returns

How would you use these in practice.

Say you wanted to put one in the hallway.

You activate it with the remote and then have a few minutes to get up stairs.

And before you come down you must point your remove downstairs to deactivate it.

    Is that basically it

    Yep, more or less!

There's two LED's on front as shown in the photo - one red and one green (and one behind the red panel indicating it's detecting motion).

When you click the button to arm it, the green light on the front goes solid for 10 seconds and then goes off when it's armed.

When it detects movement, the red light on the front flashes for 5 seconds before the alarm goes off. Click the button on the remote to disarm it.

I bought this about 6 months ago( I work in a warehouse and was hoping to use it as a bell at the front for when people come in when Im down the back and cannot see the door), Its the biggest heap of crap you've no idea. Its actually a really loud alarm (i mean really really loud). Virtually impossible to turn off with the remote. I ended up smashing it after about 2 hours

I was thinking of getting one of these for my bike.

Anyone know if I could put the sensor pointing up at my bike from the ground? Would it go off if someone came in and tried to move the bike or moved the sensor?

Yep, girlfriend's father had these on his back door. Very good too alright!

Like how this can be remotely armed / dis-armed though.
