i need help.

can someone speak to me like a six year old please.

a friend gave me a present of a dreambox dm 800 hd pvr

i know NOTHING about this thing.

i do know after having it one night that its got all the channels and hd is superb, especially the sound.

but the menus and various functions are a head scratcher.

a quick google seems to indicate these things are very well regarded....so, can someone give me some advice on them, or thoughts.

i am thinking of adding a 2.5" hard drive into it...although am not sure even how to record.....is there a way to schedule recordings??...i presume you can only watch what you record, as its only got one input from the lnb.
is there a way to get the epg full like a sky box...my epg only has one or two programs per page listed and the rest empty boxes.
my friend mentioned i can stream to my ipad, i should have asked him more..and probably will when i see him next...anyone here know about that?
are there other things this box can do i should know about?

Thinking of getting one of these boxes, but my broadband is only 1mb, would this be adequate for the box to run correctly?

Yes, as long as it's stable, it's only a few bytes every 8-10 seconds

Is the dreambox wireless or does it have to be wired into modem?
Have you got one yourself? Would you recommend?

Generally wired but homeplug networks will allow you to use your electricity mains to act as a wired network.

yep hes correct, I ran my VU+ off my 3g phone while my broadband was down one weekend and it worked perfectly

Preferably with Cccam built into it.

Any good basic (very basic) tutorials for flashing out there?
