Hi, we have terrible interference on saorview - distorted pic and sound. We had to get a new aerial several months ago but there has been intermittant interference ever since. I know a neighbour down the road has similar problems. Any advice? Thanks

What part of the country are you in? Was the new aerial a professional* installation?

    *Some are anything but.

Co. Waterford. Yep, "professional" installation by a local guy, tbh, I don't think he fully understood saorview, though I'm fairly certain we did need the new aerial.

What type of box did he supply you with ?

I presume by distorted you mean jumpy, breaking up, pixelating ?

Would you care to post a photo of the aerial installed ?

Have you attempted to call him back out to rectify the situation ? It sounds like a bad aerial setup.

What part of Waterford are you in? If you are near the coast and using Mt Leinster then you may be getting interference from Presely in Wales. I switched to Suir Valley and have had very few issues with reception since unless there is very high pressure. Presely needs very little lift to block out Mt Leinster.

Can't really condemn the installer without knowing the full story regarding reception at your location.

As mentioned already, there are well known interference issues between Mt. Leinster & the Preseli site in Wales which will only be resolved when Mt. L. changes frequency in October.

At present Mt. Leinster & Preseli share UHF channel 45.

My neighbour hasn't had any reception from Mt Leinster since last Friday. I told him to switch to Suir Valley.
