    Hey,

Having a issue with a squeaky saddle at the mo. I've taken the saddle off the stem and clean and lubed the parts, slapped it back on a tightened it on as good as I could. I've also tightened the the nut at the stem.

Neither have worked and the noise is driving round the bend.

    Any ideas?

What Type of Saddle is it ?

Is it squeaking from the Inside of the Padding ?

I am having the same problem myself. Mine is squeaking from the front of the saddle, Drives me scatty. I've tried the same as yourself with no luck. I have a Felt F85 factory fitted saddle. I've a feeling the only fix is to replace it but I hope someone knows a fix because after a good bit of getting used to each other my arse and the saddle are now friends after a rocky start :o

    Hi folks
I had the same problem, i thought it was the saddle until i went to my LBS where the mechanic put a torque wrench on all the bolts and still no joy, then he took the seat pillar out ( scandium ) and regreased it well.. Heh Presto.. Fixed. it was driving me mad too...

Its a Selle Italia racing saddle. There's not much in the way of padding on it so I doubt it's that.

    doc,
Are you sure the squeak isn't from the seat post?

I would clean the seat post as well and the inside of the seat tube. Be careful what you use to clean if the frame is carbon.

Also, try cleaning the seat and clamp again, but this time, do not grease.

Clean the nut bolt and everything else as well.

Where do you have it clamped on the rails? I've noticed squeaking if you sit it too far forward or too far back, probably past the limits.

I bought a carbon frame with integrated seat post last year and only started to use it recently. The squeak from the saddle was driving me demented. I took the saddle off and there was a lot of grease on it, I cleaned all the parts and used a layer of that self sealing rubber tape between the seat and the post and all seems quiet !

I presume the tape won't do any harm as there are no glues or anything on it ?
