    Hi

I was given an unlocked Galaxy ACE by a friend. Unfortunately this friend had it thrown at him by his ex and it hit the wall and cracked the LCD.

Well, I'd like to get it working for myself but was quoted €130 to have the lcd replaced. The touchscreen seems fine - seems to be responding to random presses and it powers up fine.

Have looked at videos of replacing the lcd and found a company in the UK that are selling them for 19.99 sterling. Just want to know if anyone has tried this and is it as easy as the videos show?

    Thanks

    John

Do it yourself ive done my dads for him recently cost 17 euro in total, took 20 min if i had to do it again it would take 5min its ridiculously easy the hardest part was using a hairdryer to separate the touch screen from the LCD, just take your time and you will be fine, no way could i justify 130 that you were quoted

Cheers for that. Did a dry run earlier - didnt try to remove the touchscreen from the lcd but the rest was a piece of pee. Def way cheaper that getting it done in shop. But they might have been quoting to replace the touchscreen too. No matter, gonna get the order in for the new screen tonight.

    Thanks

    J

My son dropped his galaxy mini and the screen went white - have ordered the replacement screen and was looking in youtube for tutorial how to change it - there's none for the mini, but for other samsung models there are few - are all the LCD screens attached the same way, ie can I just follow one of the videos? Is it easy as that?

I followed a clip on YouTube - and simultaneously fixed the cracked screen of my Galaxy Mini - much easier than anticipated - phone working like new :D.
Cost - EUR20 for replacement LCD screen and 30 minutes of my time ;)
