hi, i noticed recently that my oil boler is leaking (dripping) water from the two top air vents? above the boiler and its being causing some rust damage. the bolier is due a service this week but just curious asto why the water leaking out and what it means. boiler was installed back in 2003 and wonder if should consider upgrading to more efficient model to try save on fuel costs. see pic attached. recommendations on any upgrade also appreciated and have seen (if stick with firebird) thier enviromax models which seem pretty good? also wonder if should go with combi boiler if upgrading but not sure if would heat enough water etc in future - kids etc.

It is probably worth replacing the AAV`s, think about getting the system cleaned as it will occur again. Generally the cause is crud in the system that stops the valve reseating. If the boiler is in reasonable condition then the best savings will be made with good heating controls and a well balanced system.

Those auto air vents are a nuisance, they all leak eventually, replace them with manual vents.

It also appears to be leaking flue gas around the burner, all the scorching marks, so some new seals and gaskets maybe also required
