Meh meh meh. Have vignette, no need for instagram.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,570 ✭✭✭Squeeonline

I dont get instagram. Maybe it's because I dont have an iPhone but Android has cameras (with filters if you insist on using them).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,252 ✭✭✭✭stovelid

My camera filters and Retro Camera app do me fine on my Desire HD.

Maybe it's just the photographer in me but none of the android ones I have tried as as good as the instagram filters

    Allsizes-VignetteAppforAndroid-Effectsexamples-Flickr-PhotoSharing.png

Its also important to note that they expand the featureset every week or two as well as bug fixing. Its a VERY close tie with Titanium for best paid app. Only gripe I have is long boot times, but its rarely an issue.

If you didn't have a camera could you produce photographs?

So you get annoyed at people with cameras that have built in software to add effects.

You're ok with people having a certain amount of technology but not too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,556 ✭✭✭Slunk

Don't like that there's no preview on vignette. Usually mess around with camera zoom fx or for quick and simple snap bucket.

I get annoyed with every single picture uploaded to facebook/twitter/plus having a pointless filter no matter if its food or sh!t on a shoe

Have to agree, know a few particular offenders. Filters are fine, but they get very tiring when applied to every single shot.

    Defiriend them.

What makes you think we're intetrested?

Fly with a flame thrower approach so

And I dont. Its an opinion related to the relevant topic of this discussion. ie: Instagram for Android means more photos with filters which im not looking forward to.
You know, the way this entire website works? Different points of view?

I initially installed it & it wouldn't work, so I uninstalled & tried again. It worked. Am using a HTC Desire.
The only issue I have with it, is that people will think that I am using an iPhone, which I will never own! :D

In fairness, it's a service not a "camera app". If you just want to take photographs for yourself, use your phone's camera app.

It's like complaining you have to "sign" up to Twitter to use a note taking app.

    Some funny stuff there. :)

Fact: Steve Jobs is a legendary genius. Fact: The person who made androids is clearly to of no importance since we don't know their name.

It should be called: "Taken with iPhone or with a disposable camera?"

What are all these slightly blurry pictures doing in my Instagram feed? Are people drunk at 9am? Oh.

iPhone people don't worry all the android people won't be on instagram that much their battery life will die after they post 1 picture lol!

So you Android losers got Instagram now?? Smh..Now I know how male-supremacist felt when women were first allowed to vote...

Aye but is this Instagram **** Dat serious Doe lol y'all ugliness just accessible to everybody now

Have you changed the resolution in your camera settings? and/or uploading old pic that were taken off another device?

The iPhone needs an app like Instagram, and that's why it is so popular, but Android has arguably better camera apps (Vignette, Magic Hour etc.) that can output to the share menu or even another app for further processing, rendering Instagram a bit pointless really..

    They can keep it.

See they have now updated the app to fix reports of pics being too small.

I'm wondering what the fuss was about? I mean I can only see a hand full of filters. I was thinking there were loads!

Same here, many other camera apps I already had installed have more and I can change the border style, I think instagram have build up a community and thats the only reason its so popular.

It's pretty crap compared to what's already available, like Camera FX etc.

Then that got me thinking, it's probably raved about because it's so basic, suits the iPhone user not to have too many options, they're not used to them :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,832 ✭✭✭BionicRasher

Now I am sure I dont want to use this - as if it wasnt annoying enough already its now part of the FB empire - as the Apple boys would say - Ew

Is it just me or is it a bit **** the way it handles and shares photos? When you share it only shares the link and not the photo. What a pain. I can go in through my gallery and share it that way, but I also want the photos I have taken to automatically get uploaded to my dropbox "Camera Uploads" folder, but I have to do it manually. Any way around this?

Is that not the point? Instagram is more of a social network than an app, but people think of it as an app. They want you to visit the site.

Only discovering this myself now, apple nut huggers can keep it they don't even have a browser interface. The filters are nice but as said there are many other apps that do the same without the social networking I have no desire for..... though their filters are ever so slightly better
