People post these threads to alert people to what they consider to be bargains. In this cases, it is because a bottle of Coke is about €2.23 atm, which means you save €1.66 or so? It's a good deal for those who buy Coke or Fanta or whatever.

They don't want to go into how poorly priced some things are here. They don't want a discussion on taxes, or economies of scale or any of that.

If people like yourself came into every thread and pointed how much cheaper things were in other jurisdictions, people would get rather browned off.

It's just not the purpose of the threads, or the forum.

It'd be like going into You Laugh, You Lose and saying how unfunny the pictures are.

And, on a practical level, it's not like we can pop over to Berlin and pick up a few Mars bars or a few bottles of coke. ;)

Posting what you've written would be better suited to somewhere like Economics or Politics.

    Hope it's a bit clearer now! :)

There is a forum under "consumer" called "rip off ireland" which sounds like the best place.
