steering Problem

    I have a Toyota Avensis and this problem has been going on for at least 2 years now,

    were when i put on a full lock, and then say reverse my steering wheel feels like there is something stopping the wheel returning straight, happens for about 5 seconds

    the car has passed nct tests etc.

    it use to happen the odd time but now seems to be regular i did check power steering fluid was ok

    any ideas

    I take it your car is the pre 2003 version. There was some issue with the steering rack on some of these. I can't quite recall the detail but if you search the toyota owners club website and specifically the "Avensis" forum, you might get more information.

    I would also post your issue there as it's likely that you're not the only one affected.
