Dave HD Sound issues.

    Hi.

    I have noticed a problem with Dave HD recently where the sound goes for several seconds, the picture flashes and sound returns. This happens every few minutes and is extremely annoying. (mentioned on Digital Spy a few weeks back). I have emailed them but have had no reply as yet. Has anyone else noticed / reported this?

    Hi mossie. I have exactly the same problem and it drives me mad. Seems to happen on QI more than other programes for some strange reason. Sometimes it is ok for half hour and then the sound skip for a few seconds followed by a flickering screen. Can happen every 10 minutes or so. Have not reported it yet but will be shortly. Seemed to start about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Have you heard anything yet?

    I've noticed it on QI also, but on several other programmes too. SOmetimes it will be fine right through a 3 minute programme and then it'll happen 5 times in the next 30 minutes. I did get an email looking for more info but have had no follow up on that yet.

    Thanks mossie. I had a similar problem on Sky SD a few years ago affecting the two Premiere film channels. Sky changed our dish/LNB but the issue remained to a lesser degree. Within a few weeks the problem disappeared (or Sky resolved the issue?). I will be contacting Sky in the next few days, but i am a bit busy at the moment. I think others may be experiencing this but are possibly reluctant to post their concerns thinking it will be sorted out without them having to contribute. If anyone else does have this issue please join and respond. Thanks.

    We are really sorry for any difficulties you have had with our Dave / Dave Ja Vu channel. It sounds really frustrating.

    This is just an email to thank you for letting us know. We currently have technical folk trying to pin-point what exactly has gone wrong. We think this might be something wrong at the Sky end (although alarming it is only our channel affected).

    If you do have any more specifics on timings…e.g what time it happens in the day, what you were watching, if it is still happening, how frequently – then this will be a massive help to review the broadcasts. We actually have sophisticated computer alarms on audio and visuals at our side which pick up on any glitches, so are worried there’s some underlying fault. Again we’re gutted this has spoilt your enjoyment of the channel so far!"

    Cheers mossie. At least it looks like a Sky issue and not a problem with our installations. For them to indicate that it is a fault their end implies to me that others must have complained. I will still report it as the more people that report the issue the better. It may help to speed up the resolution. If I find out anything else I will update you.

    Definitely a good idea for as many as possible to complain. Would at least show them it's a general issue.
