    Hi

This is by far the best course you can do. My mate did this course and now ownes a gym on the south side. Tutors are the best in the country snd you get free membership + lots more.

    Hope this helps :-)

The OP posted the query under fetac/plc presumably with the aim of doing this type of course not a private organisations course. It's a bit of a sweeping statement to say that it's the best course you can do because your mate did it also.

Additionally if the OP wants the option to go on to third level after the plc course this wont facilitate that either.

You need a course that gives your both the FETAC Level 5 in Sport & Recreation along with either the NCEHF accredited by UL or the ITEC Diploma in Gym Instruction. The latter are your professional gym instructor qualifications. So look at each course carefully to make sure it has a gym instructor qualification to go with the fetac award because fetac alone is not considered a pro gym instruction qualification. Have a look here:

I'd suggest you apply immediately though, these courses are popular and fill earlier than a lot of others. Even if you're only thinking about it at the moment, if you leave it much later it might be very difficult. So apply to open up the option for yourself.

What's your gender? Have you got an interest in soccer?

I'm doing the FAS/FAI Ladies Soccer course in Clondalkin and I'm doing the FETAC Level 5 and ITEC Gym Instruction certs as well as playing soccer 3-5 days a week. I've completed my KickStart1 soccer badge and will have KickStart 2 done by the end of the course.

They have courses for males in Cabra, Irishtown, Castlebar and a couple of other places too I think.

As it's through FAS, you'll also be getting a weekly allowance.

You also get your First Aid cert. All of it is paid by FAS.

Will have a look at that site and see what the courses are like would be more inclined to go PLC/Fetac route for follow on reason if i want to further my studies in the area.
