A puncture that goes away?

Did a lovely spin this morning around south Wicklow on my MTB. Pumped up tyres before I left as I hadn't used bike for a while short of using it in the shed for turbo training. Between Knockananna and Aughavannagh my rear tyre felt very soft and it got softer. Despite the fine day I wasn't looking forward to having the fix the puncture at the side of the road, so I pumped it up as well as I got with the mini-pump I carry. It did the job but I figured I'd have to stop and pump again every so often or bite the bullet and fix the puncture if it deflated very quickly. Mysteriously the rear tyre held firm for the remaining 15km home. Curious. Anyone else experience anything similar?

Yes happen me on more than one occasion, I think it could be sticky valve or a bit of grit.

yeah the tubes /valve dont hold pressure very well over time even over nigt they will drop pressure thats why you shouls always pump up your tires to correct pressure before every spin.:P
