    The Hindu times writes:
Eight years on, however, Lynndie England the woman at the centre of those scandalous images remains unrepentant claiming that apologising for her conduct would be “like saying sorry to the enemy'' .
“Their lives are better. They got the better end of the deal. They weren't innocent. They're trying to kill us, and you want me to apologise to them? It's like saying sorry to the enemy,” Ms. England told The Daily, Rupert Murdoch's U.S.-based web newspaper.

I think on that news we should invade Iran next.

I do not like what the US and its people are becoming. Especially in the last 40 years, there has been a large scale devaluation of all life that is not "American" by both the government and its people.
I don't particularly like Nazi Germany comparisons, but I think it's becoming quite apt when looking at the modern US.

This proves that Americans are little more than animals, almost on par with your average African savage in Liberia or Congo.

This proves nothing about average Americans, or the US army

I agree with her. These jihadists are sub human scum who think nothing of decapitating people on camera. They are not worthy of compassion or human rights.

    Idiotic.

Firstly, these men were not convicted of anything.
Secondly, even if they were they must be treated humanely according to international and US military law. That includes humane execution.

This is just one woman's opinion, and one who failed in her role as a professional soldier/warder. It cannot be indicative of the mostly fine state of the US who have at least made steps to address the maltreatment of prisoners.

What's there to debate here? The OP has quoted the statement of an individual idiot and then there is an attempt to tar all Americans with these views? The brother of the French Islamic killer has commended his actions. Should we start a thread on that being representative of some country/religion/group?

Her statement is disgraceful. She likely has psychological issues from her military service or her prolonged demonisation of 'the enemy', that she has lost sight of who the enemy is and is as fundamentalist as those she despises.

    Mod.

Don't really see what is to debate here other than a tremendous leap of logic from the OP.

Thread locked because it will only result in more bans.
