Hi, recently on net search would freeze. All control would freeze. I'd have to turn off from back. Restart again and it would say last session not turned off properly. Load up and restart grand. Streaming video tonight, flashed up- ethernet cable not plugged in, vid froze and ps crashed. Won't turn on. Unplugged all cables. Left for couple hours. Tried again. Back mains on, hit standby button. Colours went from red green blue yellow red and nothing. What can I do if wont turn on???? Is there anywhere that can fix? Heard some lad in bray fixes but have no contacts or address for him. Please help me...

sounds like the yellow light of death.
As far as I know the lads in Bray don't actually have the proper equipment to fix them properly.
There are plenty places that do though.
Before you give someone your ps3 to repair make sure they have something called a BGA rework station.

Most places don't have this equipment as its expensive and very hard to use, so instead they do a DIY fix that does more damage than good and doesn't last.

    Just a heads up :)

Of the top of my head Consolepros are in Dublin and can fix it properly for you.
I'd advise you to go for the reball option

Fixed myself. Hoovered dust from vents. Was able to eject game, by turning off from back, hold eject, turn on back, press standby. Then removed hard drive from side, remove panel, unscrew blue bolt, slid hd to side then pull out. Then hair dryer full power at hot for 15 mins onto the rear vents, then 15 mins on cold to cool down. It's on you tube by fatpreacherman. Class

You've probably ruined any chance consolepro's had at fixing it. This repair will not last & can very likely cause more damage than good, as Jimbob mentioned above.
