Insurance claim question

My car was involved in an accident and will be in the garage for a couple of days, I'm claiming off the other guys insurance as he is to blame for the accident. My question is when my car is in the garage getting repaired will his insurance cover me getting a replacement car or would I have to pay for that myself? It probably all depends on the company but maybe someone could throw some light on it for me. I know with my own insurance there is an optional extra of car hire but I didn't take that when it was offered. :(

You should be able to claim off the other persons insurance for a rental car while yours is off the road.
You're also entitled to claim for depreciation on your own car, I think it's 10% of the cost of the repair.

Thanks for that, didn't know i could claim depreciation but it does only seem fair. I must have a look into that.
