Well i can't say who was on board, but I'm convinced i saw one of the two that they use in Shannon on Thursday around 14:30. I work in the ind est next to the airport and catch a glimpse of some traffic in and out.
One caught my eye and it had the same distinctive white and blue livery and had the U.S flag on the tail fin.

Any one else see anything? or am i mistaking it for some other carrier?

Not sure what it was exactly that you saw but there are a number of aircraft operating in the presidential livery. They are operated by the 89th Airlift Wing. In addition to the 747's they also operate 757's, 737's, GV and GIII for a range of top brass.

When I worked out in Shannon Aerospace, I often saw a 737 in and out that had the "presidential" livery!

Might it have looked something like this...

    Exactly!

It was Boeing C40C 05-0932. No specific aircraft is designated AF1 or AF2, any USAF aircraft carrying the US President uses callsign AF1 and any carrying the Vice President AF2. There was an American Airlines B767 in the same day on a diversion as previously mentioned here.

That's the one alright. I knew straight away it wasn't a 747 so was a bit stumped. Mystery solved.
Nice little one to spot all the same;)

That plane would not be big enough for Endas ego. He's like 'Cock of the walk' since his election as Taoiseach.:D

One of my highlights when down in Shannon (no camera alas alas) was seeing one of the presidential 707's at Shannon many years ago. I think the secretary of state (this would be late eighties) was transiting.

    My god it was loud.
