I like to like music that not everyone knows ;)
I like Ed Sheeran, but now everyone knows him- and I jsut found Ben Howard a few months ago and just today I saw an ad for his album on Sky1.
So anyone know any good singers/bands in the same sort of genre? Thanks :D

So basically, you're a lazy hipster?

Does the music suddenly stop being enjoyable when you realise other people know it too?

I think what the OP means is he's looking for some non-mainstream music to sharpen his range of folk/rock music selection. Perhaps some more music to recommend to friends of Ed Sheeran fans who are yet to hear music not on the radio.

I don't think he's worried he won't like the music if no one else knows it, but some people think some songs are ruined when they are overplayed.

I would recommend Jimmy MacCarthy, Shelagh McDonald, The Civil Wars, Christie Hennessy, Mindy Smith, Billy Bragg and Blackmore's Night to get him started.

    Taking the piss are we?

Maybe throw in The Killers too if that wasn't mainstream enough for the OP.
