    laptop - packard bell ms2273
    os - windows 7
    error - see attached

when i boot up normal i get the blue screen within a few seconds.

i can boot into safe mode without any blue screen.

prior to this im told that no changes or updates were made to the laptop.
it was turned on and there was a popup msg about a battery error and saying it may need replacing.
the laptop was then rebooted. then this issue started.

i have tried booting with and without the battery without change.
i do not have access to the original windows cd.

can you please help me diagnose this error?

    thanks

    Sounds like hardware.
    Found this on technet.

    Edit:
Easier to read here, than trawl through the website. :)
    Device Clean Boot

    ==============

Please unplug all unnecessary devices to test the issue. In this situation, your system will only have the basic hardware devices and it should be more stable.

If it is inconvenient to unplug the devices, we can disable them in Device Manager. Please refer to the following steps:

    1. Click "Start", type "DEVMGMT.MSC" in the Search textbox and press Enter. Please click “Allow” if the User Account Control window is prompted.

    2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".

    3. Right click on your Sound Card, select "Properties"

    4. Click "Driver" tab, click Disable (Disable the selected device). Click OK.

    5. Please use the same method to disable other hardware such as: Modem, network card, CD-R drive. Please note some devices such as video adapter are not available to be disabled.

Then, restart your computer. Does it still crash now?

If the system is stable, we can re-enable the devices one by one to narrow down the root cause.

If the issue still persists, the motherboard or CPU may have problems. If that is the case, I recommend asking the computer vendor to examine it.

They didn't let an Indian have remote access by any chance?

It could be a corrupted User Account aswell though I suppose, but you can't slag them for that.

It's not hardware, it's a messed up registry.

If their's porn important stuff on the Laptop you can use Ubuntu to get it off. Ubuntu is an Operating System like Windows that you can run from a CD. Explained better than I ever could in the link.

With no original/backup CD your're looking at a full reinstall from the recovery partition (accessed by continually pressing F8 (it could be a different F button, muppets can't stick to the same buttons) when you turn on Laptop) you may be able to do a repair which would rule out needing Ubuntu and the full install but it's not available on all laptops.

Ninite will help reinstall stuff if having to wipe all.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/

^^You can download Windows from there and use the key that SHOULD be stuck on the laptop somewhere (on the bottom) to activate it.

If it's not stuck there you could try http://www.magicaljellybean.com/ to get it as you can get into safe mode, do this before you reinstall windows.
