In the 1890's could a death in the Stamullen/Julianstown area be registered in Drogheda? I know St Mary's RC on the south of the river was in the diocese of Meath but did that part of Drogheda have an adminstrative centre for parts of the County (Meath) too?

Everything seems to fit other than Drogheda.

Both Stamullen and Julianstown were in the civil registration district of Drogheda.

Dont know if they are connected - but there are two other townlands named Julianstown in Co. Meath, one in Navan district, the other in Kells

You can check registration districts on the 1851 townland database at : www.seanruad.com
They are listed as PLU / Poor Law Unions

The entries in capital letters followed by a T. - are towns rather than townlands..

Drogheda registration district covered parts of Meath and Louth

Thanks Shane, I'll apply for the death cert. if all goes to plan then I believe I have his baptism in Lusk, Co Dublin in the 1820's but I have a lot of research to do before I prove that.
