W203 2003. The screen wash only works after the third press. First and second press no water, no wipe. On the third press fine, and works first time thereafter for the rest of the journey. Turn off ignition and it takes three again. It worked OK prior to this week.

Before I take it to a dealer, has anyone here experience and/or a solution for this? Not getting much, other than the problem can occur, on the web.

Just a guess but perhaps low pressure? Is water tank full?
Ask someone else to press and monitor the tank.

I'm thinking there's a leak somewhere. When it does work, is the pressure normal? If so, the system could be slowly draining between uses.

There's no sign of a leak, and I topped the tank up in case it might be low (it wasn't). It is strange that once it works it works fine until the ingition is cycled. Which is leading me to suspect the switch in the stalk or a relay.
