My petrol-engined car is a little bit slow to get going first thing in the morning. It turns over and starts, but it idles a bit rough for about 30 seconds before running smooth. It starts fine leaving work later in the day after sitting idle for 9 hours. What could be done to improve it?

could be few causes, engines tend to work in higher rews in cold temperatures,if its reeving withing 1-1.5k rpm range check the oil level, grade, also wouldn't do harm to change air filter.Otherwise could be spark plugs or faulty sensor.
