A fuel system cleaner won't clean the throttle body, throttle body cleaner will do that!
Buy a spare gasket and take the throttle body off to clean it.

If it's a repeat problem a fuel cleaner wont do it. Find the source.

recently I put one bottle of STP fuel system cleaner and injector cleaner through my '97 petrol until she was almost ran dry. I then changed the fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body and EGR. Worked wonders...but the build up of carbon in the throttle body is from your EGR. As said the fuel detergents dont pass through the throttle body. You'll just have to pull of the snorkel (coming from the air filter) regularly or every time you service it and clean it out with a rag and some carb cleaner. Handy enough job. If your burning a drop of oil this could be causing excessive build up.
