Using Facebook / Twitter accounts for login system?

    Alright gents,

I'm planning on building a simple enough web application which will allow registered users to comment on particular items. I'd like to implement it so that the user can log in using their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Probably only these, as opposed to allowing them to register a seperate account too.

I suppose thejournal.ie is the model I'd be going for here, see:

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on implementing this. I've Googled it, and spoken to another developer, but Facebook's API seems to change all the time so I'm not sure if the information I'm getting (OAuth, Open ID?) is current anymore.

    Any suggestions?

Do I need to build my app in a particular language (PHP etc) in order to implement this? I was going to do it in Ruby on Rails, if that makes a difference.

    Thanks for any help!
