Any ideas why this is the most popular year for sale on carzone? Also prices less than 6k seem quite cheap for 2007. Am thinking of buying one ...is there anything I should be aware of in this particular model? By all accounts Mazda6 are great cars... but which ones?

Petrol models are great. Diesel have opinion to be causing more trouble.

Probably so cheap, as tax for 2 litre petrol is 660 euro now, while if someone just get a year newer mazda 6 with 2.0 diesel, tax goes down by half or even more.

I'm changing my car and have been looking at cars including the Mazda 6.From what i've read and been told the petrols are fine but the diesels can be a disaster..something to do with diesel getting into the oil which means oil changes every few thousand miles. The 2.2d seems ok but the 2.0d can give trouble.

A friend had this problem a few weeks ago when he brought it to his mechanic he was told to take to the main dealer.
The explanation he was given was when the car is serviced the tolerance on the injectors need to be reset by computer:eek:

So car was put on computer and all sorted no problems since:)
He was charged 120euro and told the car should be serviced by main dealers only:(

There is great value in the 6 petrol models as everyone wants a diesel these days. They are a solid engine and car.

Folks, I'm also looking at a Mazda 6 petrol. Can ye tell me the model types available for the 1.8 engine, Executive and Executive GH, is that it? And what's the difference?

    Don't say you weren't told....... http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2056589708?page=2

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I think there was the following:

Executive - electric windows, electric mirrors, climate controlled air con, 16" alloy wheels, cd player.
Executive SE added - multi-function leather steering wheel, cruise control.
Sport SE added - 18" alloy wheels, sports suspension, front fog lights, rear spoiler, auto lights, auto wipers, rear led lights and cd changer.
