Are you planning on running them as dailys, month on month off or as weekender's.

The running costs of the two cars above is quite different that's if that is a factor for you.

I drive about 20 miles during week and another 20 on weekend, is there a major difference between the two in terms of mpg and servicing costs/intervals etc?

Servicing on an evo is more complex and if done wrong with the drivetrain it can get expensive fast. Make sure you buy a good one.

My advice get on the lancerregister and do allot of homework and maybe buy there instead of donedeal.

MPG is horrible(considering cost of Irish fuel ) to be fair its a big turbo has 4wd its not a really a family car.

The DC5,easily serviced, less complex and has trickery to reduce mpg with reported 30MPG if driven sensibly. Again usual rules apply of find a good one there are plenty for sale on dtd,hondahaven...............

    Best of luck.

yea the Dc5 is nice, if you were to go for the Evo 7 i wouldnt go for that one, it looks rough

If I were driving 40 miles a week I'd have an Evo tomorrow. But I'm a big fan so slightly biased.

Parts for em are insanely pricey from what I've seen too

    Personally I love both :p

But after having driven each one and if your only doing 40ish miles a week I'd go for the Evo all day long.

The DC5 looks nicer and would be easier to live with day to day, but the Evo 7 is a beast of a car.
If you want fun defo get the Evo, the power and grip levels are amazing.
You wouldn't honestly believe it until you have driven it and pushed the car.
You will reach your skill (fear) level long before the car lets you down.
Point the car where you want to go and floor it, it just does what it's told.
The feeling of the active yaw control kicking in and keeping the grip/line is something else.

Oh and if you get it you will drive more than 40 miles a week :D

I'd have to agree with the Evo much nicer car than dc5 think bout it vtec or 4wd turbo and a big turbo at that I like the dc5 but their slower than the dc2 they too heavy in terms of Savin money prob tip towards the dc but in terms of power and grip and an all round thrill go for the Evo

go for the dc5 just not in that color you'll never never make your money back when you sell it dont go for the evo trust me its too hard you will soon grow to hate it and you will never keep it on the road its just too expensive all over

Fuck that noise! At 40 miles a week it shouldn't hard to keep an Evo on the road assuming the OP buys a good condition one that doesnt have any hidden problems. Much more fun to be had in an Evo than in a DC5!! :D

As the op hasn't been back in a bit and looks like he has lost interest in the thread. Should he want it re-opened he can pm me.
