Couldnt find a thread on this years one. Apologies if there is one.
Anyway - is anyone else doing it? Im planning on doing it and just wondering if there is overnight parking up at Belfast. Plan is to drive up on the morning, do leg 1, stay with inlaws, then back up to belfast for the car. At least if I leave the car up in belfast it means I have to go back to get it, right? :)

I'm doing it. I'm staying overnight in Belfast on Friday. I don't know yet, how I'm getting to Belfast.
I presume the reason, it starts in Belfast every second year, is to give people from North and South an equal run at it. I'm sure, it suits people from around Belfast better to have it start in Belfast.

For anyone interested, I have put the 2012 route on Bike Toaster which allows you to download it as a GPX.
    http://bikeroutetoaster.com/Course.aspx?course=413022

Other route information is on the Cooperation Ireland web site.

Best of luck if you're doing the cycle.

It's a shame that they've changed the structure of it from years back, where the Dublin or Belfast group left on the Friday, riding back on the Saturday along with the other group, and the other group rode back home on the Sunday. Ah, nostalgia! *sniff* If I remember rightly, breakfast in Belfast was my first introduction to hash browns. Ah, my poor arteries! *sniff*

Good luck to everyone taking part.

If the place on the map posted above is where it ends in Belfast then you can park on the various side streets off the main Malone road.

It's a very up market area, your car will be safe.
