It'd probably be cheaper to sell yours and buy a TT.

You wont see much, if any gains in power.

You're better off getting a decent exhaust system, air filter, and maybe get an AFR controller. You should see some gains then, but that will be pretty much it without a turbo.

MOD WARNING: Fell free to recommend Ecus but offering services and selling is not allowed on this forum

Ecu options for your car depend only on your budget.

    Piggybacks(cheap limited engine control):
    Apexi afr
    Gready emanage

    Standalone:
    Megasqurt
    Vems
    AEM
    Motec
    Syvecs

Off the shelf chips are unlikely to be available for the Na engine and if imported fuel quality may be an issue. They are a generic map and do not usually factor in your mods.

As for power increase an ecu will help as you add mods but if you want to increase power substantially a turbo supra is a better base.

An alternative is to turbo convert the na but engine internals in the turbo version are better suited to this. Revise your power estimates down substantially from the tt.

If you want to continue tuning the na there is no reason you cant but you will need a good budget. Try an owners club to see what has been done within what budget.

The internals of the 2jz ge should be good for at least 400bhp once its a healthy engine.

Probably cheaper to do a turbo conversion than to buy a tt...

one would assume that the TT and supra's are worthless/affordable ( at this stage with petrol over 1.60 ) so its cheap enough or rather go for a ls400 lump instead of a whole new car ?

I actually looked into this not that long ago. You'll buy a N/A for a little over two grand, a donor ls400 for small money. and then the labour.

But if you're doing this you might as well stick a turbo or two on while your at it. This has been done in the UK, a TT V8....:)

I'd probably settle for a TT though, still hovering around 6k in the UK for a decent one.
