How to update the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000

    Hi

    My wife has a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 ( she is currently on 3 ).
    It is running Android 2.1-update1.

    How can she update her phone to either 2.2 or 2.3 ?

    I see no option under "About Phone" to do an update over the air.

    I know its a piece of cr@p etc, but plug it in via Kies, and if there is an update available it should show up immediately.

    Or, Option B....

    Download an unofficial update package and flash it via Odin.....
