I am thinking of doing a tefl course, the 160 hour one and I am already a qualified teacher although I am unable to find work....I was wondering how hard do you think it would be to find a job within Europe if I did this course. I would be unable to move any further than Europe to be honest. Any help would be great guys and gals!! :)

I know a girl who moved to the Czech Republic with a TEFL about 6 weeks ago and got a job within about 2 weeks. I also know a guy without a TEFL who got work very quickly aswell.

Given you are already a full teacher you should have your pick of the tefal jobs , for what its worth i think limiting yourself to the eu , alot of the far east places are only alowing in people with degrees to teach english

Syklops are u teaching in the Czech Republic?thanks for that there seems to be work anyways....Crotalus667 I am unable to go further than the EU due to family ties im afraid i would go anywhere otherwise. At this stage it isnt even about the money I need to work and gain experience even if that means only earning enough to live!the joys of it!

I think if you pick a non-obvious country (e.g. Lithuania or something like that) you could probably get a job quite easily.

No I work for a software company.

I know several english teachers. Some full timers, some just as an aside. The irish guy who owns the irish bar did it part time for a while, while running the pub. Not even for the money, I think he just liked it. That or the hot Czech females :D

Here is one ad I found after a quick google. They accept either teachers or TEFL owners.

If I spent about 5 more minutes I could find about 10 more ads of places looking for English teachers. The other place maybe worth looking is the International school. They always want english speakers and with additional teacher experience you could be a good fit. I have a friend working there if you want, I can ask her about openings?
