Emissions light on a 06 1.8 petrol Vectra

    Hi Guys

    Im driving a 06 1.8 petrol Vectra . I got a warning light on the dash that is permenantly illuminated (not flashing) . The manuel tells me its the emissions light but just says get the car checked by a dealer , it doesnt offer me any indication as to what might be the problem .

    The light came on for a period a few weeks ago then went off of its own accord just before its NCT and it sailed through that . It then came back on again so i know there is no emmisions problem or the NCT would have picked it up.

    When i drive the car from cold and take off it stutters a bit like it is losing power but as soon as i get it going its fine and then tends to be for the rest of the day .

    Any ideas then just throw them my way caus im absolutly clueless as to what the problem might be and i dont have a few hundred euro for an opel dealer to tell me its probably something small.

    Get a diagnostic scan done. No need to go to a main dealer, most good independent garages should have the equipment to scan the car and will do the scan for much less than the dealer.
