Hi guys, have an LG37LC55 tv,approx 4-5yrs old.Is this digital ready? Looked up the specs for it and it says it has a digital tuner? Tried to tune it using a digi set top ant that works perfectly on another tv-no joy:(.Any ideas? Cheers in advance.

Not all digital TV tuners are the same, Saorview uses the DVB-T/MPEG-4 standard. Many older TVs out there only have DVB-T/MPEG-2 tuners, an older standard used in the UK, which can mean audio but no video for the Irish digital channels and in some cases nothing at all.

Do you have the TV's manual, if so check for MPEG-4 in the specs.

Cheers for reply. Rooted out the manual and dvd. No mention of MPEG anything anywhere:confused:

Dont know if it has mpeg4 or not but i think it is a 2007 model so for uk and Ireland even if it had then it is unlikely to have been enabled.
If you had time to spare then you could try setting up the tv again choosing the language as english but trying a different country, say france for example.
You never know , you might get lucky.

    Its a DVB-T (MPEG2) IDTV.

Unfortunately it wont tune or show the stations as the video format required is MPEG4 H264...
