    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here has a bianchi infinito and if so, what do you think of them?

I ant t new bike, and to be honest appearance is as important as anything else. But at the same time, I dont want something that doesnt perform well! I see that none were on the cycling plus list this year. Would this be because theyre rubbish or because theyre designed for comfort?

I will not be racing on it. I will be doing some long cycles over the summer plus hopefully a half iron man and if not a triathlon.

PS colour is something I cant decide on. I love the red and the tricolor frames, but it would feel wrong not getting celeste! What does everyone think of this one? Does it look girly?

or would one of these be nicer?

Obviously it's all based on opinions!

Its just me but I would get the Bianchi.I'm sure the Wilier is a brilliant bike and you really can't go wrong with it.I thought the Wilier was on cycling plus review of the year.

That Bianchi is just so sexy.

    Hi,

The Wilier was on the list although the model that I'm looking at is last years. That bianchi is a nice looking ride!

    I have the wilier
Can't fault it might upgrade the wheels as some stage it has fulcrum 3 on it but it suits my purposes just fine
Sportives and training like you I don't race

    I hope that helps

Probably neither, I wouldn't give too much credence to Cycling+ reviews (or any magazine reviews for that matter). I'm sure they make an effort to review stuff properly but the results always seem a bit random and there's a nagging suspicion that ad revenue plays a part.

The head tube is quite tall for a racing style bike (e.g. 185mm on the size with a 560mm top tube). This is about 20-25mm taller than a typical race geometry. If you're flexible you may have difficulty getting low enough for an aerodynamic race position, but Cervelo have shown with the R5 (to widespread disgust/distain) that you can fit a pro on a relaxed geometry bike with the "right" choice of stem.

I have similar geometry on my "holiday" bike and it's very comfortable for long rides.

What kind of difference time-wise would an Aerodynamic position make? I do not plan on using it for any bike races, but would still rather not spend this kind of money on something slow!

I do plan on doing a half iron man, and a few long cycles such as the ring of kerry, wicklow 200, stuff like that. But I don't plan on competing! I suppose somewhere down the line if I did want to, I could always just buy a planet x frame or something like that.

And while I know the likes of Canyon offer a lot more value for money and possibly a better ride overall, I admit that I find the look of a bike just as important as the performance!

If you're competing in triathlons you would fit TT bars that clip on to the conventional drop bars. That makes a big difference.

Triathlons and time trials aside (racing and training for them) nobody sane rides around with TT bars on their road bike.

Comfort is really, really important. I personally think the Infinito geometry is fine if you're not road racing.

You'll enjoy cycling more if you love your bike, and you'll love your bike more if it looks good.
