Microsoft works

This is probably an easy fix but I'm a techno cretin so bare with me.

I have many files on my laptop and I always use microsoft works. I save in rtf. My problem is one of the kids have been using my laptop and everything I open now opens in Office student 2007 and I haven't full access with that.....read only? Anyway, simple files I send now can't be opened........I need to go back to simple Microsoft works.

Can anyone tell me how? I cant even copy and paste from Office 2007

Right click on the rtf file and click properties. There should be an "open with" option. Change this back to MS Works.

Find and highlight Microsoft Works in the list of programs at the left hand pane and and choose Set this program as default.
