    Hi

I've been reading up a bit on Jack3D the last couple days.

Was wondering if anybody here used it and what they though of it, how they found it.

I think this is their official website http://www.jack-3d.com/ and a google links you to various reviews.

    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=114651421&page=1

I've mostly read just great things about it.

I'd also like to know where I could buy it. I see it advertised everywhere online but was wondering if there's a shop about that stocks it Dublin area.

    Thanks

I'm always a bit wary of the preworkout products. I'm not sure how much they actually work and how much of it is in my head so to speak. But I do feel like I can do more when I've taken a bit before training - I workout at 7am every morning and taken then on an empty stomach you can certainly get the kick of it alright. I wouldn't touch the stuff in the evening though, you won't sleep much that night.

Jack3d is probably the best and most reasonably priced I've tried though. All these sort of products have mostly the same ingredients to be honest - cheapuksupplements always does a good price on it if you don't mind buying online. I'd recommend them. Also, at the moment you can get 'Pulse' from myprotein.com in the clearance sale they are doing which would also do the same sort of job as jack3d and is pretty good value.

I do think the body gets used to these sort of products though, so I wouldn't take it every time you train. Maybe 2 or 3 times a week at the most.

Thanks for that. I'd be using it as you said for maybe 3 weeks, then couple weeks off, then 3 weeks back on.

Have you or anyone used these guys or know if they are reliable?

Its grand, its not as insane as some people say. Its main ingredient is beta alanine which is a stimulant, so basically it focuses you during a work out and it also increases bloodflow. it'll be good if youve never used a preworkout before but you'll become immune to it shortly and they become redundant

It's main ingredient is DMAA. DMAA and caffeine are giving you the stim. The beta alanine is under dosed. It's just enough to give you the pins and needles

jack3d comedown is crappy for me. can barely move, feel depressed.

I haven't tried it, because I can't have any stimulants, but my boyfriend takes it, and it makes a big difference to his workout. He feels better, more motivated to go to the gym, he feels he can lift heavier, run for longer etc.

The comedown is miserable though :( It's instant grumpiness and exhaustion.

Tried the Jack3D and the Dorian Yates pre-workout stuff, found the latter insanely potent. You do build up a sort of tolerance or immunity to it as others have also said. The Dorian stuff is truly horrendous to drink! Always found the pins and needles a bit unnervy !

Have any of you who have used it got it from anywhere in Dublin or is it online?

Or has anyone used the above sites for any product? I don't wanna be scammed :p

I take NO Xplode the odd time (once every ten days or so) and I only take half a scoop, I find it helpful, but relying on it is pointless. It's basically vitamins, caffein and creatine, I get plenty of creatine and caffeine anyway because I love coffee and I take creatine and my vitamins I get froma multivitamin and my food.

Those preworkout products do work, in that they provide you with more energy. I've only well known brand I've tried is BSN NO Xplode, it does exactly what it says on the pack.

Is that still banned in the republic?

Nope. Got re-formulated so they now sell NO-Xplode 2.0

I personally can't stand BSN products due them giving me headaches.

    Ah I see.
So by re-formulated, I take it that's a watered down, less effective version?
A friend of mine used to order it online when it was illegal here and he said he wouldn't recommend it anyway. He said it made him kind of jittery and the come down was awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 66 ✭✭UUJ_Lad

2.0 is a more potent blend, reformulated and rejigged. Does the same job mind you. I get what your friend said about the jitters - Got that myself, nothing serious, but kind of annoying at the same time.

Not sure about this talk of a come down though, that seems to imply something illegal or that about this stuff. I get tired occasionally but nothing that you wouldn't get anyway working out etc.

I've taken jack3d a fair bit but stopped feeling it after a while so I stopped taking it then I went back on it recently and found it awesome, the break did it good! Only once had a crash from it and it wasn't nice at all but had to play a badminton match which snapped me out of the crash fairly quick.

Its a terrible terrible product. Really poor as pre-workouts go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 206 ✭✭Beffy

I use it all the time. Was without it for a little while recently and I really felt it in my workouts. It still gives me a zing, also give me pins & needles etc. I prefer the orange ice flavour.

I buy it in discount supplements though its cheaper on the fitnessireland website. I've never used that website but my colleague has and he raves about them. Free delivery etc

I suppose the question needs to be asked

What do you want your pre-workout supplement to do?

If you work out first thing in the morning then it has its benefits

    Precisely!

And when you say I can "feel" it working....do you know what you can feel even.

Does it? more so than a strong cup of coffee? Its only stims really. Nothing else.

Plus the 1.3 dimeth. But yeah all they are is Stims.
Other alternative is l-arginine for the "pump" but not sure what benefit that brings
