Problems with laptop connecting to search engine

    Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but a bit of a technophobe so no idea where to post!
    Her icon on the screen says Google Chrome so Im assuming that is her software, sorry if this doesnt make much sense but am a total novice!
    Since Wednesday, my moms laptop wont connect to Yahoo which was her original search engine. The Yahoo page comes up straight away but when she types something in to search it says its not connecting. Google works for her but she always liked using Yahoo for her emails and she doesnt know much about internet stuff, she said she was on Skype that night and a "white cloud" came on. I got her a new Skype so thats sorted and ran her Bullguard anti virus thing which has since said theres nothing wrong.
    Ive no idea what Im doing with it and dont want to click or alter her settings in case I mess it up even more (as you can tell Ive no idea what Im talking about)
    Any advice would really help!
