    Hi all.

Firstly, i have to say that my training is going really well but im looking to get to some next level speed. My best for the 60 at the moment is 7.8 and this is in training. It feels good but i know i could get out quicker.

I guess im looking for tips on improving the first twenty/thirty metres.

I know most of you will say weights but thats a non issue so just primarily running based exercises.

    Thanks all and much obliged.

I'm not going to claim that I know an awful lot about sprinting but aren't you talking about the starting phase moving into the pickup phase? I would have thought that a coach to observe (ideally) or a video that you can analyse would be essential to tweak your technique. Head down, short strides and good foot placement are all things to make sure you're doing. There are tons of drills that you can do but unless you know where you can improve you run the risk of hitting and hoping.

Thanks. I get what your saying but i was kind of hoping for specific speed maker drills.

Ive heard of the classic 20-20-20 but i wonder is there much else out there.

I will have a coach to look at my technique but he is very very busy with a few internationals so in the mean time i was hoping for just running sessions that anyone has off hand.

Check out my training log for some of the sessions that I do, you may find something there. Most of mine of late have been of a speed endurance type over the winter but should be doing more sharper stuff over the next few weeks.
Correction- to add something,if its drills, the drills I do are mainly plyometric, like hopping on 1 leg over markers, bounding, fast knees over markers, kick backs, A skip and others that I dont know the name of. Also do a lot of hurdle drills for leg lift and hip mobility. link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8brPabMEVE0 but you prob do these already.

I've never run a 10km in that time, officially anyway ;)
