Will I get Jobseeker Allowance?

I got a letter from welfare saying my Jobseeker Benefit is ending soon. My wife earns about 400 euro per week, we have one child and 30k in bank. Am I going to get Jobseeker Allowance? I know it's means tested but I'd like to know what to expect.

Checked spreadsheet which was posted on this forum. However it does not take child nor savings into account.

I am going to assume that €400 is gross and that she is working 3 days or more.
Means from capital in bank will be €10 as first €20000 is exempt for means and then its €1 per €1000 for next €10000.

You will receive a personal rate of €188 + adult dependant of €124.80 and child dependant of €29.80 = €342.60 this is your starting point before means are applied. Means from your wifes earnings will be €204 approx + €10 means from capital = €214 in total this is subtracted from €342.60 giving you €128 approx.

I did a quick calculation for FIS (Family Income Supplement) using the €400 figure and from what I can see you will be better off on jsa.

I think you will be disappointed if you expect €128. In simular position with two kids and nil savings. Was told i would get €120. You will only get half payment for child.

When its means tested for jsa full rate is applied for child unless partner is in receipt of welfare payment also.

I really hope so but that is not what my local welfare officer told me last week when i put that question to him.

I was actualy told that if partner earns over 400 i would get nothing for children. Under 400 i would get half rate

You are referring to jobseekers benefit not jobseekers allowance.

Well the half rate as you suggested applies to jsb and you dont get any child rate if partners earnings are >€400.

Ok..thanks a mill for that. As waiting for to hear back as to amount i will get and was wondering how i would manage with food and stuff on 120 a week. Found it hard to manage on 170 benefit(was earning under 300 before lost job) and was freeking out about managing on 120 euro. Thanks a Mill again and have a brill "Paddy's" wkend.
