Forgive me if I should have posted this in the Television forum instead, but it's only a quick question and shouldn't take up too much time. I figured you'd know the answer to something that's been puzzling me for a while. You know that O2 ad on TV where some of the Irish rugby team have "a bit of a knockabout" in some neighbourhood park? Well one of the kids picks "Alice" and then one of the players (you can tell I don't follow rugby closely) says "Oh, we have Alice!". Well, then everybody laughs. My question is, what's so funny about that?

    I don't get it either

I think they are fighting over which team this Alice character is on but POC is still waiting to be picked.

But it's still not funny. It's pure cheese...

You don't know who Brian O'Driscoll is?

Brian O'Driscoll is one of the few players I'd recognise but I wasn't sure who said what. To be honest I couldn't remember if O'Driscoll was in the ad. :o

It would have been funny if POC had said "who the ***k is Alice"...?

I find it a little funny....................

I think that Alice had already been picked for the other team?

Don't really get that ad anyway

From Drico himself, courtesy of twitter.
Alice is about 4 or 5 and she's hidden behind me! She was so tiny

She was just too small to see. Only a young kid.

Edit: I see others have explained. Ooops.
The shoot was brilliant and the ad worked. For those who don't get it, take a moment and see if it worked or not.

for what its worth the estate & park where they played the match is across the road from where BOD grew up.

I usually hate these kind of ads, but I have to say I think it was brilliant. Nothing cheesy about it imo. Dunno why people didn't think the Alice part was funny, the kid picking the teams was obviously so nervous he didn't even notice Alice already being picked.

    Also, POC's laugh... nuff said.

Alice has handy feet and a great ball carrier, but is completely shambolic at the breakdown.

    Quick Question 2

Under 20's tonight doesnt appear to be on RTE's schedule - how can I watch it? A stream online would do.

Always thought that was a little coincidental! :D He popped over the road for lunch I believe. Know a couple of people featured and they couldn't speak more highly of those involved. Extremely generous with their time and made their kids' year.
