How relevant are Windows experience scores?
I have used various laptops and their performance doesnt seem to relate to the scores

They are a very very rough guide of performance.

I think they're next to useless. I've an alienware m14x with an nvidia 555m 3GB card and an intel HD graphics card (optimus technology). If I've the nvida driver uninstall it reports the graphics and gamin graphics scores as 6.4 and with the nvidia drivers installed it reports that the score is 6.9. There is an enormous difference between the 2 graphics cards which windows EI seems happy to completely ignore. If your system is good then you can ignore the score as far as I can see, as it may not reflect the system

Yeah just ignore it. The best way to find out how your computer performs is to test it yourself.

Thanks, confirms what I was thinking.

I only bought recently, but i have a few people looking for help buying laptops, but my idea of something "good" long term doesnt seem to fit with what they think you should be able to get one for.
getting the "tesco have one for €---- reply"
