LSR Question

Anyone following my log will realize I'm playing catch up in an attempt to run Rotterdam. I've aggressively built up my long run from 12 to 20 over the last 4 Sundays including getting up to 13+ mid-week.
Question is with 4 weeks to go from this weekend, I was planning

    March 18th 22 (just long at MP + 30-40secs)
    March 25th 20 (with 10 @ MP)
    April 1st 16 (with 8 @ MP)
    April 8th 13 (with 3 x 1M @ threshold)
    April 15th Race

When would folks normally hit their max LSR week and any risks with the above suggestion?

    tnx

    Dom

I like your plan but since you are being aggressive playing catch up run the non-MP portion of the LSRs slower - MP+60sec. You will avoid unnecessary fatigue and be better able to hit the MP miles.

I have only 2 marathons under my belt beepbeep so i am no expert but what worked for me for Cork 2010 and i will be doing the same for the Waterford Marathon this June is 3 weeks before the race i will do my last 20.
That week i will do 18 early in the week with
    4 easy
    6 @ pmp
    2 easy
    6 @ pmp

then on the Saturday will be my last 20 w/10 easy and 10 @ pmp, that is 3 weeks to the day for the marathon,i never did a 22 and never will,i prefer to do plenty of pmp,but thats just me.
    Hope that helps.

Generally 3 weeks pre-race so that would see you switching your 20 and 22 around.

There's nothing wrong with that plan. Actually it looks spot on and sensible.
Your 20 on March 25th (with 10 @ MP) will actually be more of an effort that the 22 the previous week as you are combining 2 sessions into one.

I've checked my logs and my max LSR (22 miles) on most occasions was 3 weeks out, but a couple were 4 weeks but then I would have few consecutive weeks of LSR 20 miles + behind me.
    Fingers crossed for you bud

Similar ish question about switching an LSR.

I do my LSR (LMR?) on Mondays. Can't do it this weekend's scheduled 18 miler. It wouldn't be a huge problem to do it on Tuesday but I have the Gaelforce race that Saturday.

So, would be it ok to bring it forward to Saturday?

That would mean running 16km (8 at hm pace) Wednesday, Thursday 6km recovery run Friday 18km medium long run, Saturday 29km (skipping 11km plus strides).

    Look ok?
