what will happen is people will go back to planting maize in fields it should be grown in and not just firing it in anywhere. Acreage in the open will be down. My own acreage will be similar

+3 will be less here too. If I don't get decent maize cobs this year it will be the last yr and I've been at it over 20 yrs. It's gone too expensive to gamble with.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

yes it will be definatly down. people got a good burning with it last year. i firmly believe this country with its climate is not suitable for maize. we dont get that sun and heat which is needed

Surely wholecrop makes more sense in Ireland where we can get some of the best cereal yields in the world??

21 acres this year compared to 48

cut maize in the diet(with a huge row from the auld lad)last winter for the milkes and stopped feeding it to all other stock. spent less money on meal as a result and cows produced more milk and higher solids

maize is over rated however it does increase dm intakes-a 20% maize diet is far more effecient than a 40%
