Lately when I am browsing Boards my CPU usage rises to around 90% and computer runs very slow, it only happens on this site and as soon as I close the window or run task manager to see what might be running it goes back to normal.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

What browser are you using? Do you have other tabs open at the same time? Did you try to clear cache/history and try again?

Using Chrome, it happens intermittently irrespective of whether I have one tab or a few open.
I clear cache/history regularly, makes no difference, I could clear everything with chrome's "clear browsing data" and go into internet options and delete everything there, It still happens.
I also ran a disk clean up and got rid of everything I could.
The odd thing is, it is definitely only when I browse boards, even with only one tab open.
I've done a full scan with AVG, comes up clean.

Do you have any adblock extensions installed? Could be the flash advertisements. (The only thing I can think of).

Try using adblock or reinstalling\disabling flash.

In the address type about:\\plugins. If there are two versions of flash you may need to disable one.

Thanks, I'll mess around with them and see what happens.

    Just to update this.
There were two versions of flash running, I disabled one and all has been grand since.
    Thanks chin_grin.

Did you have to agree to an EULA to use that?

I guess so, though as usual I wouldn't have read it, why?

I read them (God help me) and that program was not good, I didn't like the whole section on what info they gather, who they share it with or where they save it at all. Only read it a couple of months back, I'd say it's the same.

Generally if it takes longer than 5 mins to read, you'll get a better free alternative....I find anyway.
