Spotted about an hour ago at 12:15am in Athenry, Co.Galway. These two dogs were very frightened & seemed abandoned. Last seen at the roundabout up from Joyces supermarket on the railway tracks heading in the Dublin direction. If anyone spots them , contact the GSPCA on <Phone number snip>

Mod Edit: Phone number is under "Contact" on this link: http://www.galway-spca.com/home.htm

Has anybody seen these dogs since. My friend is missing her two dogs and these sound like them. They have searched everywhere for them and have had no joy and her kids are distraught.

They live up the craughwell road near the railway line they must have got on there and headed towards athenry. They definitely fit the description - Goldie is the retriever and with the family for a long time.Choco is a labrador pup and only recently joined the family.
Everybody has been out over the past few days looking for them but didn't think of looking on the railway tracks till i saw this post. The kids are very upset especially for Goldie who is with them for over 8yrs
We have contacted the gspca but are waiting on a response. What dog wardens did you contact and we will contact them and see if they picked them up.

    Quoted from GSPCA facebook page.

There is always an end to a story.
The two dogs missing from Craughwell since last wednesday have been found.
Sadly they were both found not very far from their home,on the railway tracks..dead. Goldie the elderly retreiver was actually quiet deaf so when Ger and Warren had been calling them and tried to get them to come back, she couldnt hear. The little pup however stayed by her side all the w...ay home from Athenry and they had almost made it home along the railway tracks. Another concerned lady had called the railway station and a very kind man informed her that he had seen their bodies late last thursday on the tracks. This is terrible news for the poor family, but at least now they know where they are and can bring them home. Our sympathy goes out to them, and our thanks to everyone who tried to find these two precious pets.
