Dog escaping?

    Hi,
I am having the same issues with my dog dogs. we have a chain link fence about 5 ft hight. One dog is able to climb over it. We than put a leaning fence in and she managed to get over this. We highered the fence by about 3 foot and hoping this will work. we have used chicken wire at the tope so its unstable and difficult to climb. I still think she will get over. I now have her tied up

The otehr dog is forcing her way under the fence. She walks around it all day until she finds a weak point and jsut forces her way through it.

We are now leaving her inside. We live in the country surrounded by sheep and otehr wildlife. a local farmer have been told that they dogs will be shot if he catches them on his land again.

I am very stressed out by this and would love for anyone with any bit of advice to help me. I dont even think the radio fencing will work as they are so determined to get out

I did find this one website but its an american site http://coyoteroller.com/home

I've split this to your own thread so that people will respond to your issue and not the specific original one.

Hi, I had the same problem with two of my dogs, they kept getting out no what I used to fence them in, then I got those steel mesh Security panels and made a dog pen with concerte floor and that worked

If you leave a dog out all day then you can hardly be surprised if it suppresses its boredom by trying to escape :D. Take a look at the Wolf enclosure in a zoo. The fencing has to be buried in concrete to prevent them from digging under. You prevent climb out by having a section at the top that slopes inwards.

I don't propose restarting the in/out debate but keeping your dogs indoors does keep them secure. Even if I had a high walled garden I would still keep the dogs indoors if I am out.

Would be expensive but what about security fencing you know the one that on the top it is curved. For the bottom of your fence pouring large stones that are too heavy for the dog to move over the base can help.

It's a shame when you have a large garden to have to confine them to a smaller section when you aren't there to supervise ours don't escape ..don't think they've the brains to lol but we have a dog run for security when they're not being supervised. It gives a lot of piece of mind.

The great thing about the dog run is it can be increased in size over time very simply. Or what you could do if you can afford it..they aren't cheap but last a lifetime..is buy the longest panels usually 11 or 13 feet long depending where you get them and buy one that includes a roof. The roof will give you extra security eventhough the panels are climb proof..unless the dogs bonkers..the roof will just give you that extra piece of mind.
