Dental work/Opitical care with medical card

Hi Ive just received my medical card today. I was just wondering would anyone know whats covered under the dental and optical services. Ive looked up hse.ie but doesnt say exactly whats covered? Thanks

A check up and 2 fillings per year, also extractions if they are needed. with optical i think u can get an eye test and the glass if needed, i think u can get bog standard frames but you will have to fork out for the fancy ones

I'm not certain about this, but you get a certain discount (60 euro a few years ago) towards the cost of your glasses. Doesn't help me much when my lenses alone are about 400 euro

Dentist I believe you get 2 fillings a year.

Have u tried Zenni Optical or goggles4u

Used Zenni a few times. 2 Week courier delivery, Careful - 1st time my lenses were not wide enough for my face.
