Great game so far, Bayern are slaughtering them.

Great finish by Muller, assisted by Robben, about time really from Bayern.

No more then Bayern deserved in truth.

    Nice finish by Muller.

3-0, tie over. Tap in from Gomez, no more than Bayern deserve.

Could say same about Bayern last week.

    4-0, Gomez, cracking finish.

Gomez hat-trick, all about Ribery though, Gomez couldn't miss. 5-0 Bayern, deserved tbh, they've been totally dominant. It's hard to judge because the opposition are so poor, but imo Bayern are the 3rd best team in Europe atm behind the Spanish bg 2. Very solid team.

Lionel Gomez!! Gets his fourth and Bayerns 6th of the night, Ribery assists him for the third consecutive time. Good finish.

Gomez hunting Messi's target. 4 for himself, 6 for the team. Hoping I don't regret not putting money on them to win the competition.

Wait, how many times have you seen them this season? Not saying they can't/won't win the Champions League but for me the defence is still too weak (always their downfall) for them to cope with a team like Madrid/Barca.

Soft centre away from home, they lost to Leverkusen..

They are behind Barça and Madrid for sure, but probably ahead of anything else at their best.

    Another goal.

Robben with a very slick goal. Sub Sweinsteiger with an excellent assist.

Is 7 bayerns favourite number ?

Ref clattenburg having a poor game under no pressure some poor decisions eg boating yellow for a non handball one of many. What if anything does these 2 seven goal route say about the standard in the champions league this year ?

A: Teams want to score rather defend for 3 hours.

B: Teams are rubbish at defending for 3 hours.

Messi is secretly happy Gómez didn't equal his record..

Shaqiri was awful. Don't see why Bayern are going for him. Can't beat a man, gets no shots away, no great pass, gave the ball away a lot.

Just knew that cringy "Super Mario" comparison was coming from TV3. :o

    Looks chunky.

I backed Gomez for top scorer in the CL at start of season, any other year I'd be laughing! ten goals already :) not a hope of him passing Messi though

Bayern are a class act in fairness to them. Very good at home, Basle fell apart

Too little to have valid opinion I suppose, but of the little I've seen of them they have been impressive. If they don't meet Real/Barca en route, I fancy them for a final appearance.

That's 14 goals in the last 180 minutes of football for Bayern. Kaiserslautern have only scored 2 more all season :pac:

How did Xhaka play? I didn't get to watch much of it.

Don't fancy Bayern at all to win the Champions League. After the win against Hofferheim on the weekend, i knew they'd blow Basle away. But they won't be winning the Champions League!!

There should be a Mario Gomez appreciation thread. Heard on sky that he has scored something like 71 goals in his last 72 matches. I don't know how accurate that is but he is definitely up there as one of the highest goal scorers in Europe.

I put my name down in the ballot for champions league final tickets on uefa website. would love to see them get to final in Munich. Hopefully they get an easy draw in the next round again.

Whilst I wouldn't want to be seeing Munich in there (as an 1860 fan), no better final to attend than at the Allianz..

Do you have any idea where the category 4 tickets are placed? They're the only ones that I'd really be able to afford.

The Allianz is an amazing stadium. I was there in '06 on a school tour just a few months after it was opened I think. The outside of it is unreal, the way it lights up and changes colours according to which team is playing.
