I was wondering can some one explain this to me.

I had a double today at Cheltenham. Hurricane fly win or each way and Quevega win or each way. I am sure you all know how the races finished up. It has come up on my account that I lost the bet.

I was of the thinking that the money I won on Hurricane Fly for his place would than go on Quevega. So the bet should be down as a win. Am I right in my thinking.

    Thanks.

Techincally the e/w part of the bet was a "winner"

However, you will only get the e/w parts of the bet, which would be 1/4 or 1/5 of the odds, and at such short prices, you are bound to have made a loss on your original total stake.

Check your stake to make sure you did it e/w and got charged twice the stake so if it was a €5 e/w double it would have cost you €10.
Techincally the e/w part of the bet was a "winner"

The place part of the e/w bet was a winner however at the odds 8/11 & 4/7, a €5 e/w double would return €6.75
so a nett loss of €3.25 for the initial stake of €10.

Thanks for the answers. Originally I had meant to make it a win only double so I was surprised to see it still pending after the Hurricane fly race. Any way I have my answer. Thanks lads.

Can anyone explain how to put on a E/W Super 15 or what those placepots are?!

I picked out 9 different horses today and 7 placed, so I just want to know how to go about an E/W Super 15 for tomorrow and the next day?

If you go into the bookies and ask or a Lucky 15 Docket, write your selections on that: They will tell you how much it will cost.

    eg: a €1 Lucky 15 (15 bets) = €15 an each way €1 lucky 15 is 3o bets, so €30.

Placepot, again ask for placepot docket, make your selections and make a mark against their numbers on the docket. its like a lottery ticket, Simples, picking winners, harder, much harder, expecially after today...good luck
