Doubt it. You're not allowed lamp from a motorised vehicle and that's definitely a lamp right there :p

Why can't you lamp from a motorised vehicle? Where does it say that?

I used to be an avid viewer on boards. And when i started hunting i gleamed a lot of info from this site. But i soon became really irked at the mis information that was put out there. Half truths from people stated as fact to which i assumed were from people in the know.
    The NARGC link itself states

"The most important thing for hunting people to know about this Section is that the ban on the use of lamps and the other equipment mentioned, applies only to protected wild birds and protected wild animals. Therefore, contrary to what some people would assert, and have asserted in the past, even people in regulatory positions, it is not illegal to hunt by lamping foxes or rabbits, neither of which are protected and no licence is necessary."

First time back to the site in a few months today and this was one of the first posts i opened only to get misinturpereted facts from a moderator.

Not trying to have a dig at anyone lads, and if it comes across as if i am having one i apologise. But how are we as a sporting group supposed to stand up for our rights when we don't even know the laws that exist at present.

Well, for a start I suppose we could differentiate between serious comment on legal points (of which there's quite a bit in here) and taking the piss. Because if you really think we'd give a serious legal opinion about lamping in relation to the car/halftrack/whateverthefeckyoucallthat in the photo, you must think we're insane! Did the mounted gatling gun and complete lack of any road tax disk not give it away?

(though if you must press the point, there's been serious discussion of the "does lamping mean just shining the light or does it cover the entire hunting-with-a-lamp process" point on a few threads here recently amongst people who not only spend a lot of time lamping but who also spent the time digging into the actual legislation).

The piece you quote was in reference to queries members of the NARGC had about the legality of lamping foxes/rabbits, and other vermin. It makes no mention of MPVs. (Mechanically Propelled Vehicles)

If there is something wrong then perhaps you would correct it with links to the relevant laws, and inform us rather than simply say it's wrong.

There is no law prohibiting the use of lamps from vehicles. Most MPV's infact already have lamps. Two in fact. Generally refered to as headlights. Therefore illuminating an area of land around your vehicle is required by law. The use of lamps to locate vermin is not prohibited by law. The act of shooting from an MPV, Motor boat or aircraft is restricted without licence from the minister. (Usually for education, scientific research or for the pupose of culling). The act of shooting from a roadside is prohibited.
There is NO legislation prohibiting the use of a lamp from the road, from a vehicle, from a moving vehicle as it is impossible to legislate for and anyone with a torch on in their car would have to be arreseted.
