I love the book, although not entirely convinced the carefree, meandering narrative will fit the cinematic form.

Interesting cast though, most of whom seem relegated to a couple of frames in the trailer (Elisabeth Moss!). And I guess Salles is the natural choice to direct - a spiritual successor of sorts to the Motorcycle Diaries, I suppose.

If - as the trailer indicates - they have turned this into some kind of coming-of-age schmaltz-fest, I will have to hang myself.

It's probably best I don't go and see it.
