Athboy, Co. Meath - worst road surface of any town in Ireland?

I drove through Athboy yesterday and was shocked at the atrocious quality of the road....from one end of the town to the other. From memory it was never great but now it is the most pothole ridden, uneven and rough surfaces in Ireland. Must have lost 2mm of thread in a few minutes crawling along in 2nd gear. Rant over. Needed to get it off my chest.

Yes, I think it took over the no.1 spot when Gort got resurfaced.
The street in Athboy was resurfaced about 8 years ago, 6 months later, the digging started.
They're still digging and the "temporary" repairs done every time they fill back in a hole normally become potholes within a week or two.
I hope they find that oil or gold or whatever it is they're looking for soon.

The road is awful. Especially just before the bank of Ireland.
Makes you wonder why we pay ridiculously high road taxes.
Whoever is responsible for the roads around here should be strung up!!!!!!!!!!

Ferbane in Co. Offaly - I've never seen so many sunken manholes and drains right on the driving line.

One side of it is worse than the other though, from the Carrick Road to the Sherock Rd, coming back up is a bit better.

Have they redone Buttevant? It used to be like the dark side of the moon after a meteor bombardment.

I moved to a place called Ballymore Eustace in Kildare a few months ago but I wish I'd paid more attention to the roads when going to look at the house. Its an obstacle course I've to do every morning and evening, supposed to be a tourist village but the roads are something else.

Jesus all these places with crap roads. You wouldn't see it in the UK. Alloy wheel repair and tyre vendors must be very encouraged reading this thread.

The whole of Meath is a disaster, There was a road into navan town that runs past a secondary school and you had to swerve in your car to avoid the run of potholes on it. They re-surfaced the road and 3 days later they tore it up to put in manhole covers..... ruined it again. Morons.

yeah meath is in bits! Summerhill is constantly being dug up and badly resurfaced, or not resurfaced at all andthe Dublin road into Trim is a joke as well as the road between High Street and the Navan road. You will destroy your car on it!
